*we just ran out of pre dried so we will be harvesting this to order untill further notice. This mean it will likely be moist. If you need it dry please consider our pre baked wood pulp.
It goes by many names - Rotten log, decaying log, wood pulp, brown Gold and probably more.
This Bioactive wood pulp is from rotting logs in our beautiful hardwood forest. No pest asides or chemical fertilizers have been used on this land for over 60 years. (maybe much longer but I only know the lands history for the past 60 years.)
We most commonly sell this for ISOPOD enclosures.
We take a medium flat rate box, line it with a trash bag, and then pack it full of wood pulp from rotten hardwood logs.
Wood pulp is also great for gardening! It retains moisture like a sponge and is similar to peat. I’ve heard it called brown gold.
About the wood
These logs are from a beautiful hardwood forest in Southern Alabama. 36053 zip. We practice sustainable harvest methods and leave some for nature.
These are NOT STERILIZED
Not Sterilized means that occasionally you might see a bug. We try to avoid bugs when harvesting but occasionally one slips by us. These logs typically had some sort of mushroom growing out of them and they probably have a lot of micro organisms. I personally use rotten log pulp often in my own gardens. I also use it for my own worms and isopods.
The wood pulp is often collected to order.
