- Houston scores the upset!
RIC FLAIR is being double teamed by Ivan and Nikita Koloff in a cage. Ole and Arn Anderson enter the cage to attack Dusty, and Flair sides with the Andersons and goes from a tweener to a full fledged heel by locking the cage door, joining in the attack, and breaking Dusty's ankle. This was a key moment in JCP's era as a national promotion, and there were problems from the start as the fans loudly cheer for Flair during his subsequent interview.

TULLY BLANCHARD AND BABY DOLL split up in a contrived looking angle. Tully confronts Doll about her whereabouts, and she says J.J. Dillon gave her tickets to Acapulco as a gift on Tully's behalf. Before we know it, Tully slaps her and starts dragging her around by her hair! It gets weirder as Dusty Rhodes breaks it up and declares "she belongs to ME now"!

RIC FLAIR v GENE LIGON- Flair refuses to release the figure four which brings Dusty Rhodes to the ring, where he's immediately suckered by Tully Blanchard. Flair and Tully do after Dusty's knee, but guess who makes the save...Baby Doll. Well, and eventually Magnum T.A.

PEZ WHATLEY does the
MOST BIZARRE PROMO EVER
as he starts by barking at the heels. He's joined by Jimmy Valiant, who calls him the "greatest black athlete in the world". This causes Pez to not only attack Valiant, but to pull a pair of scissors out of his pants (nothing unusual about that!) and cuts off Valiant's ponytail.
RIC FLAIR AND RICKY MORTON get into a brawl. Awesome stuff!
NIKITA KOLOFF beats Rocky King with a chain, so Magnum T.A. enters the fray.

- Flair comes to ringside and the two brawl after the match.

, clip- Wahoo McDaniel runs in to pull Garvin off but takes a brainbuster suplex.

, clips- Morton pins Flair in a match where the NWA title is not on the line. Flair, Anderson, Blanchard, and Dillon then break into the Rock & Roll Express' dressing room and administer a beating. Flair grinds Morton's face into the cement and messes him up.
JIM CORNETTE AND THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS call out Dusty Rhodes. He comes to the ring with Baby Doll and in the fracas Jim Cornette jabs Baby Doll in the stomach with his tennis racquet!
TULLY BLANCHARD v RON GARVIN
- EXCELLENT MATCH, and one of my all-time favorites. Non-stop action and storytelling that goes the entire hour of the show. Dusty Rhodes does commentary and applies tape to Garvin's injured hand, then Garvin knocks Blanchard out and wins the National Title! Well, until the ref sees the tape on the hand.

- Garvin gets suckered by Tully Blanchard and J.J. Dillon.
NWA PRESIDENT BOB GEIGEL gives Magnum T.A. an "official reprimand" for attacking Nikita during the press conference- so Magnum punches him in the face! T.A. is then stripped of the U.S. title, pending a "Best of Seven" series v Nikita on the "Great American Bash" tour.

- The Four Horsemen jump out of a car and attack Dusty Rhodes in a parking lot after following him. As if that premise isn't ridiculous enough, they tie Dusty's hand to a car, and right before Ole Anderson smashes it with a baseball bat, Dusty yells "MAKE IT GOOD" for all of us to hear. The idea was to knock Dusty out of an upcoming cage match.
A HILARIOUS VIDEO from Jimmy Valiant. Jimmy is literally sitting in the gutter, surrounded by empty beer bottles, dismayed over Manny Fernandez' turn. Then comes his wife Big Momma, who turns into Dr. Seuss. Trust me, she does.
